MENTHOL
BAN

I’m a constituent of yours and I am writing to ask you to vote “NO” on the proposal to ban menthol cigarettes, flavored vapor products, and moist snuff. Bans and prohibitions don’t work. They didn’t work in the 1920s and they don’t work now. Smokers have already been demonized enough and don’t deserve to keep being punished. I choose to use legal tobacco products. As of July, all tobacco products are already banned from purchase by anyone under the age of 21. Telling adults what they can and can’t do isn’t what Illinois is about. History and common sense tell us that bans and prohibitions won’t work, will have unintended consequences and can result in selective enforcement. For these reasons, please vote “NO” on the proposal to ban flavored vapor products, menthol cigarettes, and moist snuff. Thank you for your time.
